Alexis Zepeda, AMFT (she/her/hers) is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about working with diverse populations, including children, teens, adults, families, and couples. Alexis is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and positive therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. She works collaboratively with clients to develop individualized coping skills and practical tools tailored to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.

Alexis earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and continued her education at Point Loma Nazarene University, where she obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. She has experience working with children, teens, families, and adults in a community mental health setting, providing therapy to individuals and families navigating a variety of concerns. Her clinical experience includes supporting clients experiencing depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and related challenges.

Alexis takes a client-centered and flexible approach to therapy, adapting evidence-based modalities to best support each client’s therapeutic journey. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), sand tray therapy techniques, and psychodynamic interventions. Alexis values cultural humility and inclusivity and strives to provide culturally responsive care. She is bilingual and offers therapy services in English and Spanish. Above all, Alexis values creating a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be themselves, openly share their experiences, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.
