(Supervised by Karina Desai, LPCC #8751)

Carolina Taylor is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for supporting children, adolescents, and adults through life transitions, relational challenges, and emotional growth. As a California native and child of first-generation immigrant parents, Carolina values cultural identity, inclusion, and the importance of creating spaces where every individual feels seen and heard.

Carolina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. Her academic and clinical training emphasized attachment-based and integrative approaches to therapy, which she now incorporates into her work with children, families, and individuals of all ages.

With a deep passion for working with children, Carolina utilizes a play therapy lens to help children express themselves, process emotions, and build confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges. Her work is grounded in the belief that play is a child’s natural language and that healing happens through connection and understanding.

Carolina’s therapeutic style is collaborative, warm, and empowering. She strives to create a safe and validating environment where clients can explore their stories and re-author them in meaningful and authentic ways. Using a trauma-informed lens, she integrates Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to support lasting growth and healing. Carolina is also an advocate for individuals living with premenstrual disorders and is committed to providing equitable and affirming care to all clients, especially those within marginalized communities.
