Christopher Nagma, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker #139092

Christopher Nagma, LCSW (he/him), approaches therapy with curiosity, respect, and a nonjudgmental stance, recognizing each person as the expert of their own lived experience. Therapy, for him, is a collaborative process that honors the client’s autonomy and personal journey.

He specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults facing a range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Christopher has extensive experience supporting high-risk youth and their families in residential and community-based programs. He is particularly passionate about working with young people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about their identity and direction.

His work is informed by an understanding of how early relationships shape emotional patterns over time. He has supported clients navigating attachment-related challenges, as well as caregivers seeking guidance, psychoeducation, and practical tools. He also works with youth and families around challenges related to screen use, fostering healthier relationships with technology.

Christopher is dedicated to remaining grounded in cultural humility, ensuring that individuals from diverse gender identities, sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds feel respected and understood. Additionally, he provides affirming, individualized care for neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism.

Christopher’s clinical approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. He integrates family systems and psychodynamic perspectives with interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He empowers individuals to take active control of their life through changing their relationship with their thoughts and emotions. He brings a genuine and compassionate presence to his work with those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and the overwhelming pressures of daily life.

Born and raised in San Diego, Christopher earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and his Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Northridge.
