Senior Client Care Coordinator
Jordan assists with all scheduling needs and can help you to determine your insurance or EAP coverage when meeting with one of the therapists at Positive Change Counseling Center.
"As a Client Care Coordinator I assist with matching clients with the clinician that is the best fit. I also help clients determine their insurance or EAP coverage. I graduated from the University of California Riverside with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. Upon completing my Bachelors, I became a Licensed Behavioral Technician. I have had the pleasure of working with clients between the ages of 4-19 years old. As a previous Behavioral Technician, I understand how difficult it can be to take the first steps towards bettering mental health. I am passionate about supporting clients on their journey toward self fulfillment and look forward to helping them start their journey by scheduling. In my free time, I love baking, reading, writing, and painting!"
Emilie works closely with clients and insurance companies to ensure that our clients receive the best coverage their plan allows. She can also help with 'Super Bills', claim denials and additional authorization requests.
"After moving to San Diego from Memphis Tennessee, I obtained a certificate in Medical Billing from Saddleback College. I come from a military family, and growing up we moved around frequently. I always enjoyed the opportunity to explore new places and meet new people. Growing up in an ever-changing (and sometimes stressful) environment made me realize the importance of therapy and therapists. As the Billing Specialist, I am passionate about helping others and aim to help clients have easier access to therapy by utilizing their insurance. I enjoy painting, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling."

"As the Credentialing Specialist I assist with payroll and EAP billing which allows me to help others while putting to use the organizational and attention-to-detail skills that being an educator instilled. I was born and raised in rural Iowa and while raising two great daughters, I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at the University of Northern Iowa, my Master’s Degree in Effective Teaching from Drake University and a GATE endorsement from the University of Iowa – Go Hawkeyes!
I taught preK-5th for 17 years, along with 14 years as a K-12 GATE facilitator. My favorite pastimes always include being outdoors, spending time with my husband, our daughters’ families, which include six sweet grandchildren, and our cockapoo of 14 years. I enjoy baking, working in the garden, walking, biking, beach time, friends, and improving my quilting and sewing skills".
MFT & Practice Owner
"Jennifer founded Positive Change Counseling Center in 2006. She began seeing clients part-time while working at other mental health programs and quickly grew to love working in a private practice setting where she was able to support her clients with individualized care, rather than a "one treatment fits all" approach. Her experience working with at-risk youth, adults in crisis, veterans, and even her time in a cubicle providing member support for a mental health insurance provider, all helped to shape and create the therapist and business owner that Jennifer has grown to be. From
2009 – 2012 Jennifer worked on a research study utilizing telehealth (video) technology and was amazed at how quickly it began to feel like she was in the same room as her clients. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine the added value of this experience until the COVID-19 pandemic arrived and our practice changed from 100% in-person sessions to 100% telehealth overnight! Now Positive Change has grown into three clinic locations, offering in-person therapy and telehealth to those in need.
Jennifer is extremely grateful to work alongside such amazing clinicians and incredible support staff at Positive Change Counseling Center. Today she focuses her efforts on hiring highly qualified and compassionate mental health clinicians to provide the best care for our community."
